Clelian Heights Art Show/ Art Through Time-
🌟Students in Ms. Megan's Art History Class traveled through time learning about different styles of art!🌟
From 40,000 BC to present day, students from 106 created pieces of art work to reflect these historical times. πŸ–Œ The Docent's for this magical art show were Vincent and Kylen- who guided guests through the art displays.πŸ‘πŸΌ What a wonderful way to learn through hands on art!❀
Below is the presentation given at the show on the different periods of art- enjoy these wonderful creations by Classroom 106 and learn a little ART HISTORY➑
Art History Project Descriptions-
1. Prehistoric Art was the earliest art created by humans, mostly found as cave paintings and
carvings. We created our own cave paintings with paper and paint. Each student chose
prehistoric animals to paint, including dire wolves, cave bears, giant armadillos,
saber tooth cats and mammoths.
2. Moving into ancient art, we created Egyptian art. We stained paper with coffee, and used
pen to write our names in hieroglyphics. If you look at the guide you can figure out
whose name is whose from 106!
3. We move into the medieval period. We created stained glass windows using ripped tissue
paper between laminating sheets.
4. After the medieval period, we go into the Renaissance and Baroque era. We created our
own sculptures with air dried clay and painted them with delicate designs.
5. Impressionism is next! A famous impressionist artist is Claude Monet. We used oil pastels
to draw different landscapes.
6. Our cubism pictures were created with sharpie. We drew our design out and used a ruler
to break the paper into different shapes.
7. Surrealism is the mix between realism and dream. Our surrealist eyes have a dreamlike
element to them! Can you tell what each eye holds inside?
8. You may have heard of Andy Warhol before. We created our pop art paintings inspired by
his art work! We drew a self portrait and used watercolors to paint them.
9. Last but not least, we come to the present day. Modern art and minimalism. Piet Mondrian
created squares with primary colors. We created ours with primary colored sharpies.
