Today is All Saints Day and in learning about some of the saints, our students were involved in different activities. In Ms. Anna’s room the children were crowned with ‘halos’ as tradition usually shows the saints surrounded by heavenly light signifying their holiness, their selfless lives of giving to others!

Some of the older students have been Learning about a Spanish-Mexican heritage event, the “Dia de Muertos” tradition— which commemorates a joyous celebration for families to reunite between the living world and the afterlife, honoring their dead loved ones. The most common traditions to celebrate “Dia de Muertos” include placing a loved one’s photo on the ofrenda (the altar), as well as “pan de Muerto”, (sugar skulls and marigold flowers).
