Clelian Heights faces the same issues mentioned in this well-articulated post from our friends at the Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh. Karen Jacobsen speaks from the residential perspective as it pertains to group homes, but the same Medicaid funding also supports those who receive any waiver funding. If Medicaid is withdrawn or cut, everyone’s services will be in jeopardy. Now is the time to reach out to your legislators and voice your concerns!
www.ancor.org/actions/preserve-i-dd-services-tell-congress-protect-medicaid/An important message from Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh CEO Karen Jacobsen.
As these discussions continue in the coming days, please consider reaching out to your own legislators to help them understandthat the lives of people with disabilities depend on continued funding for these programs and services. Please see below for the link to tell Congress to protect Medicaid! www.ancor.org/actions/preserve-i-dd-services-tell-congress-protect-medicaid/

The concern for Medicaid and Medicare is fraud and abuse and even incompetence. Finding these things and rooting them out is a good thing. As a result, more funding becomes available and is given to the community that is actually eligible. I think contacting our representatives is important in order to gain clarity. The fear tactics going on out in the public, are out of control.
